Wolf moon
Tonight, the moon is brighter than the previous month’s full moon. The Wolf Moon is the first full moon of 2010 and it is the brightest and the largest that you’ll ever see all year long.
Here’s a simple explanation about this ‘lunatic’ event:
Due to the moon’s elliptical orbit, there comes a time that the moon becomes closest to our planet. This is called the perigee. coined by the Native Americans, Wolf Moon came from the howling wolf packs outside their villages during full moon. This event is also known as Moon After Yule or Old Moon.
And it sucks big time when the clouds start to obscure my view to this wonderful astronomical event. :|
